As an elementary school speech and language specialist at Milltown School, I work with students in the Language and Learning Disabilities Program. I work with students to improve their receptive and expressive language skills. I also help with improving their memory skills, social skills, and problem solving/reasoning skills so they can be successful in their educational program. I am also a member of the Child Study Team and am responsible for conducting speech and language evaluations, attending IEP meetings, and developing IEP's.
Speech therapy services are delivered as per IEP recommendations. Speech/language lessons known as Weekend News, Peer Buddies, and Kids in the Kitchen cooking lessons are part of the LLD program at Milltown School. Collaboration with teachers and parents are keys to success in developing your child's communication skills. Your child will participate in these push-in , collaborative speech lessons within the classroom environment to foster language,social skills, and essential life skills.
