Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome back to school! This summer went by fast, but I am excited to share this new journey in third grade with some familiar faces, and new ones, too. Together, we get to spend our days Reading and Writing!

When I think back to when I was in third grade, a few things stand out. First, I remember being excited about school because my teacher was excited about school. Second, I remember discovering some of my favorite authors and books. This year, we will continue developing our writing skills as we try out, and perfect some craft moves. We will become stronger writers who can easily fill pages, and notebooks with our thoughts, ideas, and information. And of course, my favorite, we get to spend hours getting lost in books. I will read to you, you will read to me, we will read silently, and we will share our reading. Our classroom is full of new books that are waiting to be read. We will enrich each other's lives through a love of reading.

Our classroom is a place that I can't wait to be, and I hope you share my excitement as we become third graders together.
