3rd Grade ELA and Social Studies
I will teach your child ELA and Social Studies.
ELA will consist of reading,grammar, and writing. We will work through 3 units in reading this year:
~The Stories Julian Tells
~Treasure Island
~The Louisiana Purchase
Social Studies focuses on The American Story: People, Places, and Papers. There are 7 units:
~The Founding of the USA
~Papers and Places
~A Growing Nation
~A Changing Nation
~A Nation of Industry and Innovation
~Toward a More Perfect Union
~An Ever-Advancing Nation
Please check your child's binder each night.
- Students will have a weekly skill sheet in their binder. The skill for each subject, as well as the test dates can be found on this sheet.
- Students will also have a homework planner. They are required to copy the homework from the board each day.
- Students need to bring binders back to school every day!
- Test papers will be sent home weekly, either on a Tuesday or Wednesday. Please review the papers, sign, and return the next day.
