What is Accelerated Reader?
Accelerated Reader is a computer program that tests whether a student has read and comprehended a book by asking a series of quiz questions. Accelerated Reader counts as a 100 point test grade for English and reading. If a student is reading at home 20 minutes nightly and taking Accelerated Reader quizzes weekly, he or she should have no problem getting 100% of his or her goal. Each goal is based on the student’s reading level.
