The school birthday policy is as follows:

Birthday Parties

Parents often want to send in treats to honor their child’s birthday in the classroom. Parents should leave treats in the front office, or send with the child to class.

Allowable treats are:

  • Cookies
  • Small individually wrapped treats (Hostess, Little Debbie, etc)
  • Cupcakes
  • Snacks such as pretzels, popcorn, etc.

Not allowed are:

  • Homemade treats
  • Cakes (nothing requiring cutting and serving)
  • Presents
  • Decorations such as balloons
  • Candles
  • Beverages other than water

The teacher will determine the appropriate time in the school day to share the treats and celebrate the Birthday. Children with birthdays are invited to the office via the school news. They should be sent to the office promptly where we will sing and give them a birthday pencil.

Parents may send in invitations for a home party ONLY if there is an invitation for everyone in the classroom. Parents are not allowed to celebrate with their child in the classroom or lunchroom. If a parent has a question about birthday celebrations please refer them to the Student Handbook in the Planner, or to administration.
