APA Format: Steps to Citing Properly Using Citationmachine

1. Choose Type of media (i.e. magazine, book, webpage)

2. If citing a webpage you have two options: auto-fill mode or manual mode. Manual mode you will have to visit the site and find the information to be typed in.  Auto-fill mode you will need the link, type the link in (copy/paste) and then the site finds the information for you.  One note on autofill - it doesn't always grab all of the info, so you may have to go back and check to fill in the gaps. 

3. Double check that all fields have been filled by yourself (manual mode) or by the site (auto-fill mode).  Then create citation

4. Your citation will appear in the box under "your bibliography".  You can then copy and paste this into your works cited document. 

5. Don't forget to alphabetize your works cited entries by author's last name

6. Sometimes the author is the name of a company or group.
