Welcome to the 2020-21 school year!

Please visit often for updates.  As I get information, I'll do my best to pass it along to you.  Although this year will be different, I look forward to meeting all of my new students and watching them thrive.

Please email me at: with any questions.  If I don't have the answer, I'll be sure to find it.

Dear Parents / Guardians,

Welcome to sixth grade math with Mr. Rupp.  Please take the time to read through the following information regarding your child’s math class.  I am looking forward to working with you and your child throughout the year.  If you have any questions at any time, please feel free to call me at 383-3355, ext. 5737, or email me at

Mr. Rupp

Each student will need to have the following materials in class every day:

  1. Math Textbook (does not leave classroom)      2. Pencil        3. Notebook     4.  Dry erase marker      5. Box of tissues (for extra credit)

Homework is due on the assigned day.  In order to receive full credit the assignment must be handed in on time, every question must be answered completely, and the student’s work must be shown.  It is the responsibility of the student to hand in assignments that were due while the student was absent.  A missed assignment folder will also be available in the classroom for students to receive any work that was assigned during their absence.

Grading Policy

Tests / Quizzes             70 %

Homework / Classwork    30 %

All tests are announced at least 3 days prior to the test date.  Students will not be permitted to retake a test or make test corrections after a test has been graded.  However, I am available during homeroom and lunch for additional help to prepare for upcoming tests/quizzes.

Please take the time to read the Fernwood Middle School Handbook with your child.  It is important that students and parents are aware of all school rules.  Together our goal is to create a positive classroom environment that promotes hard work and mutual respect.
