Welcome to the Family! Our Renaissance theme this year is "Ohana", which means family.

I am happy to begin a new school year with my learners from all over the world: This year my students are from:

India, Vietnam, Dominican Republic, Peru

Mexico, Honduras, Pakistan, China,

El Salvador, Haiti, and Puerto Rico.

Your Kindergarten children are working hard learning the alphabet beginning sounds, vowels, sight words, writing, listening to stories, speaking, and reading. The classes are learning about seasons and weather, family, food groups, holidays, stories, and how to be a citizen in and out of the classroom.

Your first grade children are practicing new sight words, spelling words, vocabulary, reading stories, speaking, listening, and writing. They are learning how to use desktop computers and chromebooks, including being a citizen in and out of the classroom. The children also enjoy learning through movement and song, while building self-confidence and having fun!

The four components of English are:

Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing.

We also find time to have fun with journal writing, drawing, art, and language games.
