 Honors English II

 

See the English Department webpage for the honors summer reading novels, graphic organizer, and body biography. The two assignments (graphic organizer and body biography) are due on the first day of school.

Honors Shopping List and Summer Reading Quiz Information: see handout (supplies pasted below)  

 

Part I: Obtain the following materials by _____________.  This is a required assignment, and it will be counted as a five-point homework grade.  
Three-Ring Binder (one inch or larger) with pockets
Packet of five binder dividers with tabs
A supply of pens (only blue or black ink is accepted on assignments) and pencils—we will be doing a number of Scantron tests throughout the year. 
Loose leaf paper for your binder
Optional: A three-hole punch to go in your binder

Part II: You will need one book cover for your text, which will need to be covered by _____________.  This will be worth five points.  

Part III: In addition, it is advised that you have these items at home. (I will not check for them, but you will need them throughout the school year.)
Reference books or software: dictionary, thesaurus, etc.
Modern Language Association Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (Seventh Edition) or access to the MLA website
A working personal computer with a printer – All essays (including rough drafts) must be typed/word processed.  If you do not have access to a computer at home, be prepared to use an outside computer e.g. from a computer lab or library.
