Welcome to my webpage for English Language Learners! Our program supports K-3rd grade students who speak a language other than English at home. We currently have about 50 students with many different languages spoken among those students: Spanish, Marndarin, Vietnamese, Arabic, Greek, Pashto, Persian, Tamil, Gujarati, Urdu, Korean, French Creole and Bangla, just to name a few.
In our ELL classroom, we learn to listen, speak, read, and write in English. We do this by listening to and reading stories, looking at pictures, practicing conversational skills, and lots of hands-on activities. We also use the Fountas and Pinnell Leveled Literacy Intervention program (LLI) to build phonics, sight words, English vocabulary and reading fluency and comprehension skills.
