Dear Parents, Students, Community and Staff,

I hope you had a great summer and are ready for another wonderful school year.

My name is Jim Battersby and I am a 1995 graduate of Glassboro State College with a degree in Health and Physical Education and a 2005 graduate from Rowan University with a Master’s Degree  in Educational Leadership. 

My educational experiences includes ten years as a Health and Physical Education Teacher at Camden County Vocational Technical School and Buena Regional High School. As a teacher I also had the opportunity to coach Varsity Basketball and Softball for ten years. My educational experience continued in 2005 as an Assistant Principal at Buena Regional High School and then Fernwood Avenue Middle School. In 2008 I was appointed as Principal of the Fernwood Avenue Middle School where I currently preside. 

Our mission within the Egg Harbor Township School District is to partner with the student, family, school, and community to provide a safe learning environment that addresses rigorous and relevant 21^st Century standards and best practices. The goals are to develop academic scholarship, integrity, leadership, citizenship, a strong work ethic and the awareness to act responsibly in their school community and everyday society.

It is my honor to serve as the leader of the Fernwood Avenue Middle School and to provide our children with the environment and experiences necessary to further their education and personal growth.
