Hi! My name is Mrs. Stanford and I am excited to be your fifth grade teacher! This will be my 21st year teaching at Washington Avenue and my eighth year teaching 5th grade. I love fifth grade and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have.
When I was in college, I specialized in Reading. I absolutely love reading! I could read to you all day! I can't wait to help you to become a better reader and expose you to new reading adventures!
I grew up in Northfield, NJ- just a few minutes away from Pleasantville! I actually went to school very close to WAS. St. Peter's Elementary School was my school growing up. Unfortunately, now it is closed. I have many wonderful memories of my school years there.
I now live in Upper Township, NJ, which is located outside of Ocean City. I live there with my husband, my son, Liam, my daughter, Maeve and two dogs- my Golden Retriever, Savannah and my Yorkie, Chloe. My life at home is very busy. My son, Liam, is involved with many sports. He is a pitcher in baseball and he plays defense on his soccer team. My daughter is learning to play the guitar and she is an equestrian, or horse rider. She loves to read and could spend all day in her room reading Percy Jackson or Harry Potter.
One thing you have to know about me is that I love football. When I say football, I mean soccer, of course. My family and I follow British soccer and I support a team called Arsenal. I am obsessed with them. You will see me wearing my jerseys and shirts around school. I am also a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox baseball team!
