Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! My name is Mr. Jones and I look forward to being your child’s math teacher this year.  Pre-Algebra can be a rigorous course, but I am confident your child is up to the challenge.

To help with communication, please consider signing up with www.remind.com so you can receive daily alerts about your student's homework and progress on your cell phone and/or by email.

Please encourage your child to complete classwork and homework assignments in a timely manner.  www.IXL.com is a web-based program the district uses to help strengthen child' math skills.  The students are responsible for completing three to four assignments per week for homework.  If students are unable to use the internet at home, they have several alternatives to completing their assignments:

1)   Attend the C.A.R.E or the Afterschool Academy programs (chromebooks and/or computer lab availability.)

2)   The Pleasantville Public Library (open Monday through Saturday).

3)   Student may use smartphone with internet access.

4)   Student may stay after school (most days with advance notice) with me and use my extra chromebooks.

If none of these options are possible, please either call or email me the reason(s) why, and I'll have an alternate homework option for your child.

Homework:

Will be given out Monday through Thursday.  At least 3-4 assignments a week.  Homework is worth 5% of total grade.  These assignments are not due until the following Monday.
