A NOTE TO PARENTS
Welcome back! We finally get to have a year of Art in the ART ROOM! This is very exciting and I'm looking forward to seeing all of your children and seeing what creative works they come up with this year. At this age, I feel that art should be exploritory, so I try to design my lessons in a way that provides a concept, but allows the student to approach that concept in their own way. The year will start out with some basic skills to allow the student to have a foundation in which to build from. As the year continues, students will be able to be more expessive in the way they approach a project. All materials will be provided for the students, but I do ask that they come prepared each class with some sort of 'sketchbook'. Below are the suggestions for the sketchbook.
If there are ever any concerns you may have, the absolute best way to reach me is via email at [email protected]. I do check my email regulary throughout the day and can generally respond back within 24 hours.
SKETCHBOOK SUGGESTIONS
For each lesson, students will be expected to write down vocabulary words and do a rough draft before beginning each project.
- Sketchbook (can be a used, old sketchbook, lined paper, blank paper, several sheets of printer paper folded in half, pocket folder with printer paper... whichever you are able to accomodate would be greatly appreciated.
Besides our class time together, Google Classroom will be our main way of communication between the teacher and student. If a student has any questions, they may also email me at [email protected] . Have a great rest of your summer and I'm looking forward to the first day of school.
