Daily Assignments

 

 All daily assignments are posted below. The links to websites can be found on the Educational Links page. If you have any questions, please email me, kcruts@washtwpsd.org, or use the Remind App. 

 

Monday, June 1

ELA:

 

  • 1 Lesson on Reading Eggs
  • Superkids student booklet pages 16-17. Students will read each question and decide which character learned the lesson from the last few stories we read. You may use the student textbook to help if needed.
  • Optional: Students may find the following words on the back cover: eight, page, book, twice, live, wood, room, old, house, please and spoon.
  • Writing: Do you like chips or popcorn? (packet #2) (Split over 2 days if needed)

Math: GO Math Online Assignment: 12.8: Equal or Unequal

  • Complete Lesson 12.8 on the Think Central Website
  • This assignment can be found under the "To Do" list when you login. All parts must be completed and submitted including the orange and red whistles.

 

Content: Mystery Science Mini-Lesson: Why do you have to go to bed early in the summer? Students will listen to the read along story. 

 

 

Tuesday, June 2

ELA:

 

  • Kids A-Z Progress Assessment: found under the FLIGHT CHECK spaceship, not the assignments one.(This is a 3 part assessment that needs to be completed in one session as it cannot be paused to complete at a later time. The average time is about 20 minutes. Students will also be recording themselves read, so please make sure they are in a quiet place when they start it.) The directions for each part are listed below.

 

  1. Part 1 Reading: Students will read aloud into the device and it will record what they are reading. Please make sure they know to read it aloud in a nice first grade voice because I will be listening to them once they are submitted.
  2. Part 2 Retell: Students will do an oral retell about the reading passage. Please make sure they know to speak loudly into the device so I can hear what they said. 
  3. Part 3 Comprehension Check: Students will answer the multiple choice questins at the end of the story. 

 

  • Superkids student booklet page 15
  • Writing: Complete the writing on Chips or Popcorn from yesterday. 

 

Math: GO Math Student Textbook

  • Zoom Lesson at 10AM to complete lesson 12.9 in student textbooks. If your child is not able to attend, please don't worry, they can complete pages 719-723 with you at another time.

Wednesday, June 3

ELA:

  • Superkids Reading Assessment: This is found by logging into the superkids website. It should pop up and ask you to start test after you put in you child's password. If you need help, please let me know. (This assignment is split over 2 days if you would like to break it up)
  • Zoom Meeting at 1PM to share writing from Monday (Do you like chips or popcorn?)

Math: GO Math Online Assignment: 12.9: Halves

  • Complete Lesson 12.9 on the Think Central Website
  • This assignment can be found under the "To Do" list when you login. All parts must be completed and submitted including the orange and red whistles.

Thursday, June 4

ELA:

ELA:  Scholastic News Article: Making Ice Cream: Use the following link to access the magazine: https://digital.scholastic.com/resources/classpasscode/?app=sn1&state=%2F&role=classroomWhen prompted enter our class code (I will send the class code to parents in the Remind App). Click on the magazine picture with the article title to open the lesson.

  • Watch the Video: Inside an Ice Cream Factory
  • On the left hand side, you will see the magazine again. Click on the picture to read the magazine pages.
  • Optional: You may play the other games and explore the other actvities if you would like.
  • Writing: Opinion Writing: My Opinion About Ice Cream (Packet #2) 

Math: GO Math Online Assignment: 12.10: Fourths

  • Complete Lesson 12.10 on the Think Central Website
  • This assignment can be found under the "To Do" list when you login. All parts must be completed and submitted including the orange and red whistles.

Monday, June 8

ELA:

  • Free choice Reading day! You may find a book of your choice to read today. It can be from Kids A-Z or anybook you have at home. Find a comfy spot to enjoy your book. I would love to hear what book you chose if you want to share. 

Math: GO Math Online Assignment: Chapter 12 Math Test (split over 2 days and modified to only include questions from the lessons we did on Zoom or the Think Central website)

  • Start the Chapter 12 math test on the Think Central Website
  • This assignment can be found under the "To Do" list when you login. All parts must be completed. Remember to press "turn in work" for test to be submitted.

Content: Scavenger Hunt: I emalied the scavenger hunt. Students may go around the house or outside to find the itmes listed. We will share what they found on our zoom tomorrow.

ELA:

 Content: Zoom at 1PM to share items from yesterday's scavenger hunt!

 

Wednesday, June 10

CLASS AWARDS: Join me for a special zoom meeting at 1PM to see which award you have earned for the school year! I will email all student awards to parent emails after the meeting if you would like to print them! 

ELA:

  • Spin and Write Inflectional Endings (Packet #2)

Math:

  • Play Prodigy for 20 minutes
