Daily Assignments

 

 

All daily assignments are posted below. The links to websites can be found on the Educational Links page. If you have any questions, please email me, kcruts@washtwpsd.org, or use the Remind App. 

 

We will be starting the online publishing for our class animal book through Student Treasures Publishing (Scripsi Program). All student accounts should be active as of May 4. I will introduce this project through a Zoom lesson. Please refer to the directions provided in parent emails for how to complete the online pages. If you need any help with this project, please let me know and I will help you complete the work. I am hoping to have all the pages completed by May 15. 

 

Monday, May 4

ELA:

  • Kids A-Z: Wiggly Worms or The First Strawberry

     Students must read and answer the questions at the end. Please remember only 1 book from above was assigned to your child and can be found under the assignments spaceship when you login.

  • Superkids Student Booklet: pages 23-24
  • Writing: How to Plant a Garden (Packet#2)
  • OPTIONAL: Find the following words on the back cover of the student booklet: frown, grow, slow, Earth, world, forward, and proud.

Math: Go Math Student Textbook

  • Lesson 10.1: We will complete this during a Zoom meeting at 1PM. If your child is not able to attend, please don't worry, they can complete pages 576-578 with you at another time. 

Content:

  • Unit 10 Game on TCI website. This can be found under the assignments tab on the left hand side. I have sent specififc instructions through the Remind App. Please let me know if you need additional help locating the assignment. 

 

Tuesday, May 5

ELA:

  • Readworks Article: Henry's Homework Folder

     Students should read the arcticle and answer questions 1-7 (submit without answering question 8)

  • Common or Proper Nouns (Packet #2)
  • Make a T-Chart of words that have ow and ou (your list should have a minimum of 6 words on each side) I will send a picture through the Remind App of how to set up a T-Chart for this assignment. 
  • Writing: ZOOM meeting at 1PM to introduce Scripsi Project for class animal book

Math: GO Math Online Assignment 

  • Complete Lesson 10.1 online: Orange and Red Whistle for lesson 10.1 (started last Friday online)
  • Math Textbook pages 579 and 580

Wednesday, May 6

ELA:

  • 1 Lesson on Reading Eggs
  • Writing: continue working on your animal book through Scripsi Online- save all your work for today. 
  • Superkids Reading Assessment: This is found by logging into the superkids website. It should pop up and ask you to start test after you put in you child's password. If you need help, please let me know. (This assignment is split over 2 days if you would like to break it up)

Math: Go Math Student Textbook

  • Zoom meeting at 1PM to complete Lesson 10.2 in student math textbooks
  • If you cannot attend the meeting, please complete pages 582-584 in student text book

Content: Mystery Science Mini-Lesson: Why do Birds Lay Eggs in the Spring?

 

Thursday, May 7

ELA:

  • 1 Lesson on Reading Eggs
  • Writing: continue working on your animal book through Scripsi Online- save all your work for today.
  • Superkids Reading Assessment: This is found by logging into the superkids website. It should pop up and ask you to start test after you put in you child's password. If you need help, please let me know. (This should be completed and turned in today)

Math: GO Math Online Assignment: Lesson 10.2: Making Pictographs

  • Complete Lesson 10.2 on the Think Central website
  • This assignment can be found under the "To Do" tab when you login, all parts must be completed. 

Content:

  • Chicken Life Cycle Paper (Packet #2)

     Students must read and answer the questions at the end. Please remember only 1 book from above was assigned to your child and can be found under the assignments spaceship when you login.

  • Superkids Student Booklet (You should now be in the student book labeled Units 9-10) pages 1-2
  • Writing: continue working on your animal book through Scripsi Online- save all your work for today.

Math: Go Math Student Textbook

  • Zoom lesson at 1PM to complete lesson 10.3 in student text books.If your child is not able to attend, please don't worry, they can complete pages 588-590 with you at another time.

Content: STEM Activity

  • Last week you watched a video about birds. Today, build a Bird Feeder for the birds to use when they come back during the spring time. You can be as creative as you would like! I would love to see pictures of what you create! You don't need to put bird seed in it if you don't have any. (This is split over 2 days this week) 

 

  

Wednesday, May 13

ELA:

  • Kids A-Z: Bonk's New Bike, Monster Moving Day or Zots Learn to Play

     Students must read and answer the questions at the end. Please remember only 1 book from above was assigned to your child and can be found under the assignments spaceship when you login.

  • Superkids student Booklet pages: 4-5
  • Writing: continue working on your animal book through Scripsi Online- save all your work for today.

Math:

  • Join me for a Zoom lesson at 1PM for a fun graphing activity! 
  • Have a question that you would like to poll your classmates on. Each student should have 1 question and up to 3 answers for their friends to choose from. I sent an email with a template for this activity if you would like to print it, you may also be creative and use your own paper if you'd like.
  • An example would be: What type of ice cream do you like the best?  Answer choices: chocolate, vanilla or cookie dough. 
  • If you aren't able to attend, please don't worry, you can ask family members to answer your question for your graph. You can ask family members in your house or over the phone!

ELA:

  • Superkids Textbook Story: "The Case of the Mystery Monster"
  • Superkids student booklet pages: 8-9
  • Writing: continue working on your animal book through Scripsi Online- save all your work for today.

Math:

  • Create a bar graph with the information you gathered from your friends in your zoom meeting yesterday. We will share them at a zoom meeting tomorrow. If you aren't able to make the meeting, please send me a picture so I can see your work! 

Content: STEM Activity

  • Complete your Bird Feeder for the birds to use when they come back during the spring time. You can be as creative as you would like! I would love to see pictures of what you create! ELA:

  • Problem and Solution Paper (sent in parent email) to be completed with the Superkids story from yesterday titled, "The Case of the Mystery Monster"
  • 1 Lesson on Reading Eggs
  • Superkids student booklet: pages 6-7
  • Writing: Finish working on your animal book through Scripsi Online- save all your work so I can review your finished work. Please let me know if you are not finished with your book pages by today. 

Math: GO Math Student Textbook Lesson 10.5

  • Zoom meeting at 1PM to share the graphs you completed yesterday! 
  • Complete lesson 10.5 in student math textbook pages 600-603 (this should be a review because we worked with tally marks in school)
