Welcome to Mrs. Banks's Fourth Grade Class!  

 This site will provide you and your family with important information such as interim and report card dates, what we are working on in class, and various resources to use at home!

 

 

VPAA Mission Statement:

At Veterans Park Academy for the Arts we strive to provide every student
an avenue to success through academics, creative and expressive arts, and athletics.

 

 

 Class Mission Statement:

Our fourth grade familiy is here to learn, work with each other, and to always do our very best. We will respect each other, have positive attitudes, and encourage one another. 

 

Mrs. Banks's Mission Statement:

 My mission is to provide a safe and positive learning environment for all students to learn. My goal as a teacher is to prepare each student in my classroom academically, emotionally, and physically to become life-long learners and positive members of society.

 

 

 

 

 In the next few weeks, we will be working on the following skills:


Reading: cause and effect, using context clues to determine difficult vocabulary in the text, inferencing, compare and contrasting  point of view and making connections between visuals and the text

Writing: We are focusing on narrative writing, cursive, and creative writing!

IXL: Students can log into IXL.com at home. Their username and password are on a label in the front page of their planners. This is what we are currently working on in IXL: 

Nouns, Verbs, Compound Words, Adjectives, Prefixes, and Suffixes

 

Compass Learning: Students can log into Compass Learning Odyssey at home! I sent home a green piece of paper that students can log their completed Compass Reading or Math activities. Once the student has complete 5 activities, they can turn in the green paper for Class Dojo points! If you have any questions about Compass or how to log on, please let me know.

May 26 - Last Day of School/Early Dismissal 12:10
