I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful Thanksgiving holiday.

Now we begin to prepare for Christmas The children will begin to understand the reason we celebrate Christmas is the birth of Jesus. An Advent wreath and a Nativity Scene, from their Religion book, will be sent home this week. Each Sunday, the children should color a candle flame on their Advent wreath, to help count down the weeks of Advent. During this time of waiting, the children should earn stars for the Nativity page by being good, helpful, and kind. By Christmas, their Nativity scene should have all the stars. They will also have a countdown Christmas chain to keep track of how many days until Jesus' birth.

Next Tuesday, December 6th, is the Feast of Saint Nicholas. The children will lace and decorate a Christmas stocking, which we will hang in the classroom, in hopes that Saint Nicholas will visit and leave a treat.

Our new letter this week is Dd, with Alphafriend Dudley Duck. The children will make a list of /d/ words. They will bring home the Dd Book on Friday. Please continue to review the letters we've done, thus far.

God bless,

Mrs. Siebenmann

Note: Please remember to dress your child appropriately for the weather; we go outside everyday, weather permitting. Also, make sure jackets, sweaters, etc. are labeled with child's name.
