Homework

Homework is important part of your child's learning. Homework should never be a major stress. Let's work together to try to make it FUN! The goal is to increase your child's engagement. If your child is resistant to completing the assignment in the homework folder, please use homework time to engage with your child. Use books to stretch language skills. Count objects of high interest to your child. Make it fun. Please jot a note in the planner and your child will still get his homework star.

All students should read with a parent for 5 -15 minutes a night. This can be A.R. books or a parent reading to his/her child. Please complete the reading log that will be in your child's homework folder.

All students have also received a set of sight word flash cards to use for practice. (These are located in the student's binder.) Please try to make practice a part of your daily routine.

The homework folder will be placed in the student's binder on Monday and removed on Friday. This helps me as I individualize the homework packets.
