Learning at Home

 

 

Dear Parents/Guardians, 

 

 The week of June 1st, the students will participate in fun socal-emotional learning activities.  The last week of reading and math activities will be the week of May 26th.  Thank you for all your support with distant learning. I am so proud of each and every student.  Our last day of school will be Monday, June 8th.  Please let me know along the way if their are any questions or concerns.  I am happy to help. I will continue to post fun sight word and STEAM activities at the bottom of this page incase you need ideas for extra activities for the remainder of this week. Thinking of all of you during this time and miss you all dearly.

Our Cape May County Library System also has great online resources and activities to do with your child, including Tumble Books (another free online resource for listening to stories)

Our Cape May County Zoo is closed, but they are having virtual tours of the zoo at 11:30 everyday on their facebook page.  Go to their website and go to virtual school zoo for more information.  

 

Other activities to do with your child.......

Activities include....

Having a lego challenge every day (make a playground, build the tallest tower, make a bridge, etc.)

Make art with nature

Make a maze using cardboard or any other recycled materials

Build a log cabin out of sticks

Draw a mural on the sidewalk or driveway

Go on a walk and count the number of rocks, trees, or bugs you see

Make a diorama of your favorite animals' habitat in a old shoebox

Cook with an adult

 Sight Word Activity of the Day: Make your sight words using various toys/little objects from around your house:)

 

Creative Activity of the Day: Have a car wash or anything wash using a tub, water, and soap.  Have fun playing in the soapy water.
