Greetings from Kindergarten!

  This year will be continuing the character education program called "Leader In Me". Feel free to check it out by clicking on the shortcut I've made for you under the main menu. I've also listed below the seven habits that we will be reviewing over the course of the year.     

Leader In Me 7 Habits

Habit 1: Be Proactive 

I am responsible.

 

I take initiative.

 

I choose my actions, attitudes, and mood.

 Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind

 

I plan ahead and set goals.

 

 

I do things that have meaning and make a difference.

 

I am an important part of my classroom and look for ways to be a good citizen.

 Habit 3: Put First Things First 

I spend time on things that are most important.

 

I set priorities, make a schedule, and follow my plan.

Habit 4: Think Win-Win  

I balence courage for getting what I want with consideration for what others want.

 

I make deposit's in others' Emotional Bank Accounts.

 Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood  

I listen to other people's ideas and feelings.

 

I try to see things from their viewpoints.

 

I listen to others without interrupting.

Habit 6: Synergize  

I value other peolple's strengths and learn from them.

 

I get along well with others, even people who are different than me.

Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

I take care of my body by eating right, exercising, and getting sleep.

 

 I spend time with my family and friends.

 

I take time to find meaningful ways to help others.
Habit 8: Find Your Voice

 

 Here are a few things to practice with your child:

  • Tying shoe laces
  • Writing first and last name using upper and lower case letters.
  • Dressing self (tucking in shirts, buttoning buttons, buckling belts ...)
  • Using scissors

 Homework will always be a review of what we have done in class and should not take longer than 15 minutes. If you have any questions please write in your child's planner and I will respond that day.

March 13th- No school for students

March 16th-20th Spring Break

April 10th- Good Friday No School

April 13th- Easter Monday No Sschool
