Welcome to the 6th-grade class for the 2025-2026 academic school year. I will be your child's teacher for this exciting journey.
Sixth grade is a pivotal year marked by growth, exploration, and discovery, and I am dedicated to ensuring that each student in our classroom has a positive and enriching experience.
We will work together to foster a sense of respect, responsibility, and curiosity among our students.
To help create a smooth and successful school year, here are some key points:
Classroom Environment: Our classroom will be a safe, inclusive, and engaging space where each student is valued for their unique qualities. I encourage open communication, collaboration, and active participation.
Curriculum: In 6th grade, students will become math explorers. They would build a strong foundation for Pre-Algebra by exploring ratios, fractions, decimals, expressions, geometry, and data. Through hands-on activities and real-world problem solving, we make math engaging, meaningful, and connected to everyday life. I am committed to providing a well-rounded education that caters to our students' diverse interests and learning styles.
Homework and Assignments: Regular homework and assignments will reinforce classroom learning. Please expect weekly communication about assignments, tests, and upcoming events through our Google Classroom.
Communication: I believe in the importance of teacher-parent-student solid partnerships. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me via email or phone. I am here to support your child's education journey.
Open House/Parent-Teacher Meetings: I look forward to meeting all of you during our upcoming Open House event, where you will have the opportunity to learn more about our classroom routines and expectations.
My goal is to inspire a love of learning in every student by making math meaningful, engaging, and accessible. I aim to help students build confidence as problem-solvers, develop critical thinking skills, and see how math connects to the real world. By fostering curiosity, perseverance, and collaboration, I prepare my students not just for the next grade level but for success in life.
I look forward to a happy and successful academic school year. Let's work together to make this a successful and memorable year for everyone involved.
