Welcome students, families, and friends!  I am looking forward to an amazing year at Cape Elementary!  Fifth grade is going to be TONS of fun and learning.  Your child will have lots of great things to tell you at the end of each day so ask them to share their day with you.  We are very busy in 5th grade so attendance is very important.  Check this website often as it is a wonderful tool for communicating with me.

First, let me introduce myself.  I am Ms. Christine Archambault.  I started my education degree at University of Florida (GO GATORS!) and I am a graduate of the University of South Florida.  I have experience in 1st – 5th grade and am very excited about teaching 5th grade this year.  I have a beautiful daughter who is 12 and in middle school at Trafalgar Middle.  We have an amazing dog named Sylvie.

As your child’s teacher, it is my responsibility to help your child progress to a higher level of learning throughout the course of the year.  If there are any questions that arise during the year, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I welcome the opportunity to speak with you.  Please feel free to email me at [email protected] or you can contact me during school hours at 542-3551.  It is my goal to make this year a memorable one!  Welcome to Fifth Grade at Cape Elementary!

Things you can do at home to help your child succeed:
*Check their homework EVERY night!  Yes, they are getting older but they still need to know that you are checking on their responsibilities!
*Make sure your child is reading for AT LEAST 30 minutes every evening.  Ask them questions about what they are reading to make sure they understand.
*PRACTICE addition, subtraction, and multiplication facts with your child each evening.  We are learning many new skills in 5th grade that require your child to KNOW those facts!  The daily timed math facts is the perfect way to accomplish this!
*Ask questions!  We do lots of fun stuff during the day.  Ask your child to tell you about their day and to go into detail about something they learned.
