First Grade One of our key missions this year is for each first grader to learn keyboarding skills. We have several typing programs (Type to Learn Jr., New Keys For Kids) that help you learn the location of alphabet and special keys on the keyboard. Some of the other programs we use are:

Second Grade
One of the exciting technology skills that second graders will learn this year is the use of the computer and internet for research. Using a combination of school supported databases and safe websites, students will become familiar with proper and safe techniques for gathering information.
In January and February, the students prepare a biography report on a famous person. During the science units, research their favorite rainforest and ocean creatures using the PebbleGo website. After they have completed their research, our Second Graders then put their much-practiced typing skills to work using Microsoft Word to prepare their report.
