Parent(s)/Guardian(s)

Welcome to one of the most incredible years your child will have in his/her school career! Fifth grade is an exciting time as adolescents embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions in which the acquisition of new skills is accelerated. Students are expected to cultivate and enhance their academic and social skills by demonstrating responsibility inside and outside the classroom.

It is my goal, to foster an environment that encourages student growth academically and socially, but I cannot do it alone. As a parent, you are the most influential person in your child’s life. We can maintain each child’s self-esteem and build a secure foundation for future growth and success by working together. Here are two ways we can become a team dedicated to your child’s development:

  • Remember that each student is an individual and progresses at his/her rate, acquiring and applying skills at a different pace throughout the school year. Celebrate and acknowledge all success, no matter how small it may seem! This will help keep your child enthusiastic about learning and proud of their accomplishments.

  • Communicate daily with your child, track your child’s progress and nightly assignments online, and look through their schoolwork daily. They will have important information regarding homework assignments and notices entailing exciting events throughout the school year.

I am honored to be an active participant in your child’s education and look forward to working with you throughout the school year. If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or e-mail.

Sincerely,

Natalie Ozga

Welcome 5th grade class of 2025!

Students:

I hope you all had a fantastic summer filled with adventure, rest, and time creating wonderful memories with family and friends! Summertime is my favorite season, allowing me time to reset, relax, and recharge with my three boys.  Some of our summer adventures took us to Dorney Park , Hershey, Island Beach State Park , Massachusetts, the boardwalk , and the poolside! I also spent July teaching a delightful group of  4th & 5th graders at Cucinella.

The first few days and/or weeks might be challenging but know you are not alone.  This is my first year teaching at Flocktown-Kossman.  Before this year, I taught 8th grade at the Long Valley Middle School for 18 years. We will learn A LOT together as I transition from LVMS to FKS 🐺!

I’m excited to work with all the 5th-grade teachers and staff at Flocktown-Kossman School!  I have heard nothing but wonderful things!  Mrs. Martire & I will

be “switch” partners, meaning you will have me for Math, Science, & Engineering and have her for ELA & Social Studies.

We encourage you to pack a positive attitude in your lunchbox, tuck ambition and perseverance in your pocket, and wear a warm welcoming smile to class each

day.  To help start the ground running, please bring in the suggested supplies listed below by TUESDAY, 9/3.  Additionally, our schedule allows time for a

"working snack," therefore please bring a healthy peanut/tree nut-free snack that is easy to eat.   Lastly, to keep our minds active and ready to learn, feel free to

bring in a water bottle to keep on your desk. 🍌

In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your summer by spending time with your family and friends! 😎☀️ And for those who can attend, We look forward to

meeting you at our walk-through on August 28 from 1:15-2:15. If you don't make it, no sweat, we'll see you on opening day!😁

Be sure to visit Mrs. Martire’s webpage to access and complete the Parent Survey for the Martire-Ozga Team!

Warmly,

Mrs. Ozga
