 Mrs. Hollie's Class

Where ALL students are held to high expectations.

I believe in the POWER of the Pygmalion Effect. The Pygmalion Effect is the phenomenon whereby higher expectations lead to an increase in performance.

Hello

I am responsible for teaching  English I, English II, and English IV.

I am a 1991 graduate of Maurepas High School and continued my education at both Southeastern Louisiana University and Southern University. I am married (Ty Lane)m and I have three children (Justin (28), Jackie (26), and David (22). I am blessed with six grandchildren; Keegan (13), Lily (10),  Emmy Lou (7),  Livie Jean (5), and Abel James (1 year).  I enjoy hiking, collecting rocks and shells, gardening, bird watching, and visiting historical places.

It has been a great honor for the past sixteen years to be able to come back to the school I graduated from and help educate the students of this GREAT community. I take pride in this school and community. I believe that although small in size, we have the most caring, dedicated staff around. This school holds some of my greatest memories and I have developed life long relationships and life lessons at Maurepas School.

I thank you, as a parent, for entrusting your student to my care and I do not take that job lightly. I dedicate myself to ensuring your student is engaged daily in lessons that will foster academic success, along with building positive character traits that will help them to be caring, productive adults.

There are many factors that contribute to my philosophy of educating students. However, I believe that if a trusting relationship is not fostered in the classroom between the student and myself, learning will be limited.

I ask that you develop a trusting relationship with me and that if you ever have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email or phone. Please check this site often for important information and school events.

Thank You

Hollie Picou Willie
