Hello, my name is Mrs. McKenzie and welcome to Tucker Elementary. This will be a wonderful year for your child as we build on previous successes and learn new things throughout the year. With home and school working together, your child’s academic and social skills will become stronger. Here is some important information about our class.
- Students should arrive to school between 7:55 and 8:23. Our school day ends at 3:25 with carpool beginning at 3:35 and buses loading between 3:35 and 3:45. If you pick your child up in carpool, be sure to have your pick-up card in the passenger window. Parents without a pick-up card will have to drive to the front office to receive the student, no exceptions!
- Our scheduled lunch time is from 10:37 – 11:07. If you plan to bring your child to school after 10:30 please provide lunch to them before you bring them.
- Each day your child will bring home their CAMP binder. This binder will contain completed work from the day and notices from the school or me. Please check the HOMEWORK folder daily and remove KEEP AT HOME items. Send binder to school daily, this is our way of communicating with you. Chromebooks will also need to be transported to school fully charged and home daily.
Here are some ideas to help keep your child actively learning.
-read books (ask them questions about what they read)
-practice sight words
-practice basic Math facts
-creative writing (Ideas: They can write about books they've read. Students have also written informative paragraphs and personal naratives in class. They can keep a daily journal.)
-basic handwriting practice
Most importantly, I want everyone to stay safe and healthy!
