Welcome to Physical Education

    

   The Physical Education Department would like to welcome you to Burnt Hickory Elementary School.  We are so excited to start the 2018-2019 school year. Our goal is to teach your child how to lead a healthy lifestyle. It's important to establish good exercise habits early in life, so he/she can continue them into adulthood. According to the American Heart Association, regular exercise can help your child:

  • build strong muscles and bones
  • maintain a healthy weight
  • sleep better
  • improve self-confidence
  • reduce blood pressure
  • raise HDL ("good") cholesterol
  • decrease the risk of type 2 diabetes

Children need at least 60 minutes of moderate activity daily. Keep in mind that this doesn't have to be planned exercise - playing outside can count!

     The Physical Education Department will put your children first.  We want your children to be physically, socially, and emotionally fit.  We look forward to meeting the parents of our students.  Please come by and visit us at any time.
