2024 - 2025 School Year
Greetings Parents and Students,
Welcome to a brand new year at Ola Edwards Community school! This will be my third year teaching in this school district and I am both honored and excited to teach basic skills and concepts your children will need to advance in education and life.
This year will mark my seventh year as an elementary school teacher. I started my educational studies at Union County College where I graduated with an Associate's Degree in Science. I then attended Kean University, where I graduated with a New Jersey Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education (K-6) with a Content Area in English Writing. During my junior and senior semesters I was a student teacher at Dr. Orlando Edreira Academy No. 26 in Elizabeth, teaching fourth grade. I previously worked at School #4 in Linden where I taught third grade social studies and science for two years and then transitioned to the East Orange Community Charter School for a further two years, teaching second and fourth grade (Science and Mathematics). This year I am joyful and proud to be teaching fifth grade, here at Ola Edwards Community school for a third time.
My goal has always been to teach students through social interaction and guidance. I have and will continue to practice this approach. I have found that this has strengthened my understanding and use of differentiated instruction, cooperative learning groups, and 21st century technology. Below you will find my current schedule for this year and other important information.
