WELCOME TO MR. CARDILLO'S CLASSROOM OF WONDERS!!!!!Type Text Here

 

 

 WE ARE A VERY BUSY AND HAPPY GROUP IN MR. C'S ROOM. WE ARE LEARNING MORE AND MORE EACH DAY NOT JUST WITH ACADEMICS BUT WITH SOCIAL SKILLS AS WELL. WE LOVE TO USE MUSIC AND ART THERAPIES TO SUPPLIMENT OUR LEARNING SKILLS AND WE ARE QUITE A TALENTED GROUP.  THE KIDS AND I ARE GETTING TO KNOW ONE ANOTHER ALONG WITH OUR CLASSROOM AIDES WHICH HAPPEN TO BE THE BEST AROUND. I WILL BE UPDATING THIS PAGE REGULARLY AS WE LOVE TO SHOW OFF OUR NEW SKILLS AND IDEAS. PLEASE VISIT OUR SITE THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AS WE ARE SUPER EXCITED ABOUT OUR NEW JOURNEY AND WATCH US REACH THE STARS!!!

 

December 2018: Well the group and I have been working very hard on our academics. We are seeing some real progress and the class is very happy each and every day. We are very excited about our trip to Liberty Science Center on December 11!! We are gearing up for the holidays by decorating our room.

 

December 18: We finished decorating our REAL Christmas tree today and we had loads of fun! Today we sang Christmas carols. Myself, our class, and our terriffic staff wish you a wonderful holiday season.

 

JANUARY 2019: It's great to be back with our wonderful class! I hope everyone had a great holiday break. Well we've made it through the first half of the year and I must say that I'm very pleased with our students' progress. We are looking forward to finishing out our year in grand style. We will be planning some fun and educational field trips for our gang and look forward to a great second half of the year. As always, our gang is very happy and working hard. I couldn't be more proud.

 

January 2019: We just booked our first field trip for the year. We will be going bowling here in town with our fellow classmates. Should be lots of fun. More trips to follow!

 

 

January 2019: I don't know if it's the cold air but our group has made some increduble progress as of late! My previously non reading students are now reading sentences with two to five letter words and copying them into their notebook. When we make breakthroughs like this there is nothing like it!

 

 

February 2019: My students are working very hard and we are learning every day. We have a bowling trip scheduled for February and also a trip to the supermarket to work on life skills!

 

March 2019: Our students are working very hard and making some great progress. We will be making a pictorial collage of Bayonne for the 150th celebration. We are also looking to plan our next field trip.

 

April 2019: We are very excited for spring in our room! We are planning all types of outings and field trips in the months we have left. Our students are progressing and are very happy!!!!

 

May 2019: Everyone had a great spring break and came back to school ready to LEARN!!! I'm so very proud of our class and the achievements they've made thus far. Now that spring is here we will be doing weekly trips to Hudson County park where we will enjoy the nice weather while we work on our community skills and learn about nature.

 

May 2019: I couldn't be more proud of my students if I tried. We are learning to tell time on an ANALOG clock to the hour and half hour. Students are also skip counting by 10 to 100!!!!!!!Overall reading and numberskills are also improving. VERY HAPPY!

 

June 2019: The class and I have been winding down the school year. We have been visiting Bayonne Park once a week where we are enjoying the nice weather and learning about nature. We have some real squirrel lovers in our class! The class is eagerly anticipating the end of the school year and spirits are high!!!

 

 

June 2019: As this school year comes to a close it is a time of reflection. I am so very lucky to have been given the privelidge to work with such a wonderful staff and a group of students who have stolen my heart. I have seen some real progress this year not only in academics but in personal growth as well. Most teachers look forward to summer vacation but I can honestly tell you that I will miss our students dearly. I hope they all have a wonderful summer break and I look forward to our next school year.

 

 

September 2019: Our classroom and staff are very excited for the new school year!  We have many educational and fun activities for our students. We now have a real piano in our room which we will be using for music in our classroom along with other instruments. We are ready and excited for the new year!

 

We are very excited that we will be going on weekly outings to Bayonne Park for community learning. We are also looking into our first field trip to Turtle Back Zoo. Our year is really taking shape. The students are working hard and are forging new friendships.

 

October 2019: We are off to a great start to the new school year. All students are learning and making friendships. We have our first real fieldtrip in October 23 to Turtle Back Zoo!

 

Our zoo trip has been moved to Friday, November 1st.

 

 

November 2019: We had a great time at our field trip to Turtle Back Zoo. It was very educational and the class really enjoyed seeing the different animals. Working on our next field trip for us.

 

November 2019: We are very happy to announce our bowling field trip set for December 10!!

 

December 2019: We have a shopping trip this Wednesday to Shop Rite to buy items for our cooking/life skills class. We have our bowling field trip on December 10.

 

December 2019: We had a time on our bowling trip! Our trip to Shop Rite went well with everyone helping out. I want to wish all of my students, parents, and co workers a very happy holiday!

 

 

January 2020: I hope our students and families had a wonderful holiday. It's nice to be back and see everyone happy and healthy. We will be deciding on our next field trip in the near future.

January 2020: I just found out about a place in Livingston NJ called Lifetown. It is a brand new multi million dollar complex designed for special needs kids. It is a simulated town indoors where students learn everyday life skills. There is a simulated bank, market, dentis, pet shop etc. I just wrote for more information.

 

FEBRUARY 2020: I'm very proud of my student Jax who illustrated all three floor diagrams of our school from memory. We had them laminated and are now displayed at the elevator for each floor!!!!

 

MARCH 2020: We are very excited for the warm weather to start coming back. We have some exciting outings planned going forward including a trip to an animal sanctuary.

 

APRIL 2020: I hope everyone is doing ok with this crazy situation we have. Students are receiving assignments at home. I miss you all very much and hope we can be together soon.

 

JUNE 2020: Students are continuing to learn using Clas Dojo during this pandemic.. I miss our students very much. Hopefully we will be able to see eachother soon.

 

NOVEMBER 2020: I know it has been difficult for everyone with the online learning. For me there is no substitute for in person learning. I want to thank all of the parents for all of your help during this difficult time. It is difficult for me as I miss all of my students and am eager to see them in person and learn all about them. Thank you again for all of the help in this difficult time.

 

DECEMBER 2020: As we near the holiday season I would again like to thank all of our parents for all of their help during this difficult time. 

 

January 2021: I hope everyone had a great holiday break. Let's make the best of the second half of our school year!

 

March 2021: I hope everyone is doing ok with this tough situation. I want to thank all of our parents for the sacrifices you've made to help our students in this difficult time. You are the best!

 

April 2021: I am looking forward to returning to school on May 3rd. For those of you choosing to stay home we will continue our work virtually.

 

 

October 2021: We are very excited about our trip on October 29 to Happy Day Farms. We will be pumpkin picking, visiting the zoo as well as going on the rides!! It will be a great day!

 

November 2021: We had a great time on our field trip to Happy Day Farm. We got to feed the animals and pick our own pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. A great time was had by all.

 

January 2022: I hope everyone had a nice winter break. We will do the best we can with starting the year virtually. Hopefully we will be back in person soon. Stay well!

 

February 2022: We are grateful that our students are back in school!! Everyone is doing well!

 

March 2022: We are looking forward to our bowling trip tomorrow. We are also excited for the warmer weather where we can take our weekly trips to the park!

 

 

September 2022: We are very excited to be back for another year of learning! We took our first field trip to Shop Rite today to buy food for our weekly life skills class. A great time was had by all!

 

October 2022: We are all looking forward to our field trip to the Staten Island Zoo this friday!!

 

November 2022: We had a great time at the Staten Island Zoo!! We are currently looking for our next outing.

 

December 2022: We put up our Christmas tree recently and it looks great. We will be going to the Jersey Gardens Mall next Friday!!

 

 

September, 2023: We have our class up and running! We are looking forward to a great year of learning and fun. We will be going on field trips as much as possible. Looking forward to a great year!!

 

 

 

January 2023: We hope everyone had a great holiday!!! We are currently deciding where to go on our next field trip.
