Greetings,

Welcome to a new school year! I’m confident that this is going to be a year full of fun, learning, and new adventures. I’m looking forward to getting to know all of my students and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us!

I grew up in a small town in central Pennsylvania that is very similar to Port Elizabeth. In 2011 I  graduated from West Chester University with a bachelor’s degree in English, then earned a master’s degree in Education from Saint Joseph’s University. I moved to New Jersey in 2016 and now live in Linwood with my husband, Steve, our son Layne, and our dog Metal.

Your students can expect to have an exciting and well rounded experience in my class. We will be following a standards-based curriculum in which students will use outside research, technology, and the textbook to master skills. While in my classroom, each student will be assigned a chromebook to use for academic writing, conducting research, and the development of many other skills.

I asked that students bring either a notebook and folder or a binder filled with paper for my class.  I have plenty of spare school supplies so please just let me know if your student is in need of anything at all. My classroom expectations are as follows: be safe, be respectful, be responsible, be helpful, and be focused. My discipline policy includes two verbal warnings before a contact home and write-up.

I want this to be an enriching year for your student and if you have any questions, concerns, or input please let me know. My contact information is below. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Skyler Hauck
