As a Spanish teacher at Berlin Township School, my primary mission is to help students get on the path to learning a second language and develop an appreciation for Hispanic culture. I believe that a key element in the foreign-language classroom is to keep the students motivated. I am from Managua, Nicaragua. I migrated to the United States as a teenager and grew up in Camden, New Jersey. I graduated from Rowan University with a bachelor's degree in Spanish and a minor in Education. I earned my Master’s Degree in Education Technology. My style of teaching combines enthusiasm, culture, and technology in an effort to increase learning motivation. I teach with a contagious smile and an open personality that helps me to interact with my students as I guide them through their learning process. Teaching my native language enables me to draw upon my culture and personal experience. As a foreign language learner myself, I am able to guide my students to effectively communicate; furthermore, to gain an appreciation for language, communication and culture.
