Hi Everyone! Welcome to My Title I Website!!
My name is Mr. Jaco and I have been teaching in Hillside for the past 10 years. I have loved every minute of it and look forward to another amazing school year! I previously taught 6th Grade Social Studies at WOK Middle School for 3 1/2 years and Ola Edwards Community School for 2 years, before 6th Grade was divided into Hillside's elemntary schools. At that point, Deanna Taylor Academy became my home and I have taught 6th Grade ELA and Social Studies here now for 3 1/2 years. However, this school year I am very excited to continue working at Deanna Taylor in a different capacity, as a Title I Interventionist. My role is to provide addtional assitance to students who are Partially Meeting or Approaching grade level standards- in grades 4,5, & 6- to Meet grade level standards by the end of the school year. I am going to work hard to make the best of each day and make learning fun, and engaging for all my scholars.
This school year we will be using a variety of new programs and websites to make our learning experience more convenient, efficient, and user friendly for parents, students and teachers! My office hours are Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00am-8:30am by appointment only.
*Parents: Students should read for 30 minutes every night, as well as complete their Homework from their General Education Teacher.*
