From Mr. Severino:

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year.

My name is Stephen Severino, and I have been an educator at Hillside High School for rent years. I look forward to working with all of my students and their families to ensure my students have the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills they need for success in college and the workplace.

Here are a few things you should know to start the year off strong:

1. I run a paperless digital classroom. This means that students will be using computers to complete assignments in the classroom and at home. If your computer or internet access is limited at home, please e-mail me at [email protected] as soon as possible.

Running a paperless classroom does not mean that students who prefer a paper-based notebook are prevented from using one. It only means that students will receive assignments and materials from me electronically.

2. Assignments are given via Canvas. Students can access their work at home by signing into Canvas using their school e-mail accounts.

3. Grades can be viewed in the Parent Portal. The Hillside School District uses a digital grading platform known as Genesis. Both parents and students can access grades using the Parent Portal of Genesis here: http://parents.hillsidek12.org

If you have trouble signing in, please contact the high school guidance department for assistance.

Best Wishes,
