Welcome to Second Grade!
Hi all! My name is Jessica Russo. This is my 19th year serving the wonderful families of Hillside. I teach all subject areas to our second graders. I am a graduate of Rider University where I recieved my Bachelor of Arts degree in education. I have also obtained a Master of Arts degree in education from Grand Canyon University. I am looking forward to a great year filled with learning and laughter!

Homework Expectations:
Homework for the entire week will be sent home at the beginning of each week and due back to school on the last day of classes for that week. Homework will consist of skills already taught to provide practice and review. Additionally, your child will be responsible for reading at least 20 minutes each night. There will be a reading log attached to the homework sheets for you to sign off on each night reading is completed. Homework is also a way for students to practice responsibility. Your child is responsible for putting their completed work in their blue homework folders to return to school each week. They may need reminders in the beginning, but the hope is to see their independence shine through as they become comfortable with the routine.
