Our mission is to help gifted students realize their potential and their contributions to self and society; to provide a program to help meet their psychological, social, and educational needs; to help them become capable of intelligent choices, independent learning, problem solving, and self-initiated actions; to bring them together with other capable and motivated students for support and intellectual stimulation; to strengthen their skills and abilities in problem solving, creative thinking, communication, independent study, and research; to maximize their learning and individual development--while minimizing boredom, confusion, and frustration; and to reinforce their individual interests.

I am looking forward continuing with the Gifted program for my 3rd year after 16 years in the classroom at OFRS. The first ten years of my career at OFRS were spent teaching 4th Grade Language Arts and Social Studies. The past 6 years I have been a 2nd Grade Classroom teacher. I am dually certified in Elementary and Special Education. Throughout my time in the district, I have been fortunate to complete Project Read training, Orton Gillingham certification, UPenn Graduate classes with a focus on backwards design in education, and numerous other educational trainings to further my skill set. This position has allowed me to become active in the gifted community and continue my learning of this subject area, attend conferences and workshops, and stay in contact with other Gifted Education specialists so that I can be the most effective teacher/coordinator/advocate for our student population.
My husband and I reside in town and have two children. Long Valley is such a beautiful and welcoming community. I feel fortunate to reside in the same town to which I work in.
